Framing Space

Framing Space was an installation exploring engineering and architecture. Three differentially curved space-truss structures totaling thirty square meters of surface area were designed. The assembly included stainless steel nodes, structural aluminum struts, cable tension anchors and structural blind-riveting and cantilever supports that were developed and laser cut while foamed aluminum polycarbonate honeycomb panels and high-density polyurethane foam shell shapes were CNC routed. Project was in collaboration with Pratt Institute, Columbia University and a number of manufacturers who provided advanced material and production services.
